A Digital License is an extension of a Mechanical License and grants the licensee permission to reproduce and distribute Permanent Digital Downloads (PDD) of phonorecords/sound recordings of a copyrighted musical composition (lyrics and melody) in audio-only format on platforms such as iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Napster and/or eMusic. A Digital License is required for each record reproduced and actually sold or distributed/distributed as "free."
This Digital License applies to this particular recording of the musical composition by the named artist and only on the project listed. Any other use (such as a compilation) will require a new and separate license.
You are not authorized to change the lyrics or melody of this original song. The correct title of the song, name(s) of songwriter(s) and publisher(s) must be credited when registering your song for PDD.
The current statutory rate is 9.1 cents per song, per copy. This license grants the licensee the right to distrubute 100 PDDs of the phonorecord. Licenses are available in lots of 100. For additional licenses, please adjust for the desired quantity. Ex. If you need 500 licenses, adjust the quantity to 5. Your total for 500 licenses would equal $45.50. Once all copies have been digitally distributed, if you intend to continue to digitally distribute your song, you must acquire additional licenses.
